With his 1st place win Marcos has earned himself a trip to Abu Dhabi for the main event and a chance for a piece of over $145,000 in prize money.

World No-Gi Championship 2009 Results |
|
Wednesday, 11 November 2009 |
|
We had four competitors head down to the 2009 World No-Gi Championship. Each competitor ended up in the finals match for their division, very impressive.
Congratulations to Al Williams, the new World Champion masters brown belt middle weight. Additional congratulations to Sean McCandless, Merrick Hamilton, and Dustin Akbari on their 2nd place finishes in their respective divisions. Check the results page for details.
It is quite an accomplishment that these four fighters all placed first or second. Their success is a testament to their training and dedication on the mat, in the gym, and on their diets.
Congratulations again to everyone!
Worlds No-Gi 2009. Merrick, Al, and Sean
Cassio, Al, and some nice hardware.
